Sapias Holding B.V., has recently taken over Solar Management B.V., which was established by Martien & Ingrid van der Valk at 14 December 2000 with the goal to have a holding company managing and expanding their business interests on Bonaire. Sapias Holding B.V. is also owned by Martien & Ingrid van der Valk and has the same goal.

Initially it operated on a small scale thru the acquisition on May 11 2001 of Bonaire Caribbean Real Estate N.V. (with Sun Rentals as its trading name) a company that holds the management contracts for Bonaire Ocean Front Apartments. Under the name of Sun Rentals activities on both the long- and short-term house rental as well as real estate market are being executed. Sun Rentals was sold in the year 2006

On June 5th 2001 Sapias Holding B.V. (at that time still Solar Management) bought Belmar Apartments N.V. and thru this acquisition it obtained the management contract of Belmar Oceanfront Apartments.
Palm Trading N.V. was purchased on 22 February 2002 with the goal to import and sell dive related equipment, articles and gear to dive shops on Bonaire as well as on other islands in the Netherlands Antilles.

The real growth came with the purchase of Buddy Dive Resort N.V. and Buddy Water sports N.V. on February 14 2002. This 46unit (dive) resort was and is a major player in the tourism industry on Bonaire. In October 2004 Buddy Dive Resort acquired Lions Dive Hotel Bonaire and because of this Buddy Dive Resort increased its room inventory to 78 units or 110 bedrooms/220 beds.

Throughout 2003 and 2004 Sapias Holding B.V. started to operate in the Facility Management sector mainly serving its own companies in the fields of Housekeeping Services, Maintenance- & Engineering services as well as IT-related activities. Beltech N.V. was purchased for this reason on October 18 2002, which basically has 3 sub-divisions.
Bonaire Security Forces was established in that same period providing security services not only to the resorts and accommodations within the group, but also to non-affiliated resorts and non-tourism related business as well as private persons/houses. This company was sold in June 2005.

Because of losing a major account in 2004 Beltech N.V. was downsized and went thru reorganization. Presently this company mainly serves the other companies of Sapias Hloding B.V. with engeneering and IT services.

Early 2004 a share Caribbean Parasail & Water sports was acquired and at the end of that same year Sapias Holding B.V., at that time still Solar Management, obtained 100% of the shares.
What began on a small scale in 2000 has grown to an organization that employs 123 person. In total Sapias Holding B.V. consists of 4 strategic business units.
