Assistant Supermarket Manager
At BonDiGro, we are looking for an energetic and hands-on Assistant Supermarket Manager.
As Assistant Supermarket Manager, you are the link between the store floor and internal processes. Together with the Supermarket Manager and the Floor Manager, you form the beating heart of BonDiGro.
Where the Floor Manager focuses on leading the store team, you make sure that logistics, inventory, team leader coordination, and process optimization all run smoothly. You are visible on the work floor, ready to connect, lead, and improve every day!
What will you do?
Coordination & Leadership
- Lead and coach team leaders (fresh, dry goods, frozen, checkout)
- Chair work meetings and align weekly planning
- Support in personnel planning and team leader development
- Stimulate collaboration between departments
- Act as a clear and approachable point of contact for the team
Inventory & Logistics
- Coordinate orders and delivery times
- Monitor stock levels and turnover speed
- Identify shortages or surpluses in time
- Align with the warehouse and suppliers on volumes and needs
Assortment & Store Strategy
- Contribute ideas on assortment and promotions
- Analyze sales data, margins, and customer needs
- Roll out shelf layouts and campaigns
- Improve store presentation and customer experience
Waste Control & Process Optimization
- Detect waste and shrinkage
- Implement efficiency improvements
- Set and monitor KPIs and reporting
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards
- Continuously optimize logistics and store processes
Who are you?
- HBO working and thinking level
- At least 3 years of experience in a supermarket environment
- Experience managing team leaders or departments
- Knowledge of stock management, logistics, and retail processes
- Strong numerical insight; confident with Excel and planning systems
- Structured, coaching, and solution-oriented
- Hands-on, stress-resistant, and communicative
- Knowledge of HACCP, safety and labor rules is a plus
- Fluent in Dutch; English, Papiamentu, and/or Spanish is a plus
- Flexible in working hours (also weekends, holidays, and peak moments)
