Inventory Controller

As an Inventory Controller, you are responsible for accurate inventory administration and a controlled goods flow within Bonaire Discount Grocery B.V. You verify incoming goods, perform counts, analyze inventory discrepancies, and ensure continuous process improvements. Thanks to your efforts, errors, shrinkage, and out-of-stock situations are minimized.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Check deliveries for correct items, quantities, quality, and – where applicable – batch/lot numbers and expiration dates.

  • Reconcile deliveries with purchase orders and packing slips and document discrepancies.

  • Correctly process goods receipts in the system and escalate issues in a timely manner.

  • Ensure proper storage and flow to the sales floor, warehouse, and refrigerated/freezer areas.

  • Plan and execute periodic counts and full stocktakes (warehouse and sales floor).

  • Analyze inventory discrepancies and determine causes (such as receiving errors, POS errors, picking errors, or shrinkage).

  • Process inventory adjustments within delegated authority.

  • Identify and resolve inventory and system discrepancies.

  • Monitor and report KPIs such as inventory accuracy and shrinkage.

  • Initiate and implement process improvements.

  • Guide and train colleagues in proper inventory and receiving procedures.

 

What do you bring?

  • Minimum MBO level 4 working and thinking level (logistics/retail equivalent).

  • Experience in retail, inventory management, goods receiving, or warehouse control.

  • High level of accuracy and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with inventory, POS, or ERP systems; Excel knowledge is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to consistently enforce procedures.

  • Willing to address discrepancies and errors.

  • Ability to translate data into concrete improvement actions.
